It all begins here! This course is designed for dogs and owners with no prior experience but is equally suitable for dogs who have had some experience with scentwork.

The course begins with an induction session where you’ll learn the core ingredients of search! We’ll provide you with an ‘odour conditioning kit’ to take home before you begin the weekly classes! Over the following six weeks your dogs will learn to search, find and indicate on a target odour! We wrap up the course with a ‘scenario based’ assessment!

Take your scentwork to the next level! Following on from the Constable course which focuses on teaching the dog, the Sergeant level is much more about building the dog and handler team.

We’ll be proofing your dog’s indication, working together to search larger and more intricate areas and building search stamina with longer and more challenging searches. Improve your handler skills by learning about body positioning, lead handling skills and put it all to the test in a fun scenario! (six week course).

The third piece of the puzzle! Inspector level is all about you, the handler!

Following on from the Sergeant course, we'll be looking at distance handling and the systems of search. Using skills adapted from Police explosive search teams, we’ll teach you to tackle buildings, routes, areas and vehicles. This course aims to teach the dog and handler team to perform thorough, safe, systematic searches and learn skills that could propel you and your dog to a high competition standard should you choose!
